It’s Free Pattern Friday!
Today, Fresh Air Washcloths in Clean Cotton (pattern link here).
Simple and sweet! That’s how we’d describe these quick and easy cloths in our Clean Cotton.
This is actually a picture of Clean Cotton Multi, the speckled companion to solid Clean Cotton. I just think it looks super fun in a simple project like this. We call it Clean Cotton not because it’s great for dishcloths and home dec projects (which it is!) but because it’s 100% reclaimed fibers – the lightweight cotton (and a little polyester) fluff left over from making other yarns, which otherwise would have gone to waste. Clean Cotton is cleaner for the environment by keeping it out of the waste stream.
The cloth itself is a great beginner’s knit. It’s a simple two-row repeat of just knits and purls.
The I-cord border is added in finishing, for a neater edge and to create a nifty hook for hanging. Beginners, this technique is spelled out in the pattern, and it’s easier than you think!
We hope you have a safe and productive weekend. Happy crafting!
Free Pattern Friday – Maya Scarf
It’s Free Pattern Friday!
Today, the Maya Scarf in Bamboo Pop (pattern link here).
This is a long but light beauty.
It’s easy too – I’ve made this one myself, in Bamboo Pop with color 121 Lilypad as the main hue.
It was a fun, simple knit, and I do love the blue tones.
It’s an easy knit – garter stitch stripes along the edges, and slip-stitch speckles just above. A bit of texture in the body keeps this interesting!
The Maya Scarf makes a great companion piece to the Maya Tank, a darling warm-weather top from e-book Bamboo Pop Adult 2.
We hope you enjoy this little taste of summer.

Free Pattern Friday – Blue Star Cardigan
It’s Free Pattern Friday!
Today, the Blue Star Cardigan in Luxor (pattern link here).
We have designer Edie Eckman to thank for today’s crocheted beauty! Edie’s responsible for some truly stunning knit and crochet designs for us, like Branscombe from our newest Kingston Tweed collection.
Sized from XS to 4X, her Blue Star Cardigan is a classic crocheted piece in mercerized Fibra Natura Luxor Egyptian cotton.
This sweater body is crocheted flat in one piece from the bottom up. The front and back are separated at the underarms. Sleeves are worked flat and sewn in.
The pattern is intended for intermediate crocheters with the ability to work shaping while maintaining a color stitch pattern.
There’s no need to cut the color after each row – just carry it up. Edie Eckman has a great video on how to work this technique:
We hope you enjoy this lovely crocheted cardigan.

Free Pattern Friday – Striped Lily Tee
It’s Free Pattern Friday!
Today, the Striped Lily Tee in Cotton True Sport (pattern link here).
Today’s free pattern was formerly part of kids’ collection Cotton True Kids.
It’s an e-book of sweet knits for kids from toddlers up to kid size 12, in our lightweight Cotton True Sport.
We love this yarn, not just for kid knits but for accessories and adult pieces, like the crocheted Citron Scarf…
or the free lacy Kaye Pullover…
…and also consistent favorites like Amy Gunderson’s Rocked, which we all knitted along with a few years ago.
We hope you enjoy this new kid-friendly summertime top.

Free Pattern Friday – Euphoric
It’s Free Pattern Friday!
Today, Euphoric in Pix and Whisper Lace (pattern link here).
There’s a lot going on here, but designer Amy Gunderson made it all work together.
Eyelets, stockinette, and garter stripe…
Little “sproings” of fringe at the edges…
And a generous 70″ length, considering this takes just one ball each of Pix and Whisper Lace!
Plus, check out how the pattern changes 3/4 of the way across the row. This is a fun one to make and to wear!
Formerly part of e-book Happy Sock Shawls, we’re delighted to set Euphoric free today.
We hope you find something to feel euphoric about this weekend.

Free Pattern Friday – Mosaic Dish Towels
Happy Free Pattern Friday!
The Mosaic Dish Towels are our free pattern release this week. Knit in Clean Cotton, 2 balls of 2 different colors will work up a pretty pair of kitchen towels.
Mosaic knitting is a fun way to add visual interest to a project. The technique uses slipped stitches in different colors to create a pattern that goes up the rows. If you’ve never tried mosaic knitting before, this could be a great introduction.
Though these dish towels may seem humble, few things bring as much joy as making something you can use day-to-day in your house. The I-cord hanger means that these towels can be proudly displayed in your kitchen.
Did I mention that the Mosaic Dish Towels are also eco-friendly? Clean Cotton is made using 100% reclaimed fibers, and comes in 21 colors. You can pick a combination that totally speaks to you!
We hope you have fun knitting these towels!

It’s Free Pattern Friday!
Today, the Apple Orchard Shawl in Cotton Supreme Waves and Cotton Supreme DK (pattern link here).
Apple Orchard is a fun springtime shawl knitted in lightweight solid Cotton Supreme DK and self-striping Cotton Supreme Waves.
Combining two coordinating yarns in the same weight creates bold stripes that play well together.
Start knitting at the broad end, and work toward the narrow tip.
Garter stitch blends with openwork for a cool shawl that’s great to knit while chatting or hanging out (virtually!) with friends.
We hope you enjoy this breezy, easy project.
Stay safe, and happy crafting!
Free Pattern Friday – Bold Circles Throw
Happy Free Pattern Friday!
This week, we’ve released the Bold Circles Throw in Luxor. Originally a part of Garden Book 5: Bring your Garden Inside, this is the first time we’re making it available as an individual pattern. This colorful crochet throw was originally written for Garden 3, but works perfectly in one of our new yarns, Luxor.
Luxor is made of 100% Egyptian Giza Mercerized Cotton, and has an impressive palette of 39 colors. It’s perfect for garments, accessories, and home pieces in crochet or knit.
The Bold Circles Throw is worked in 63 circular motifs. They are join-as-you-go, which makes for a very meditative crochet project. While we’re all spending more time at home, why not take up a relaxing project and make something for your home?
