Free Pattern Friday – Cabled Cushion Cover

Are you excited that Friday is finally here? We are, too! Today, we have a cozy surprise for you. The Cabled Cushion Cover, designed by Ashley Jane McIntyre, is our featured free pattern this Friday, and we know you’ll love it. From classy cables to velvety soft yarn, let’s learn more!

Using Bella Chenille, the Cabled Cushion Cover is even softer than it looks! This single-ply yarn is 100% polyester in a super bulky weight, which means it’s perfect for homeware projects like this one. In order to make this cushion cover, you will crochet three pieces and then seam them together. The front piece is square-shaped, while the two back pieces are rectangles.

The two rectangular pieces overlap so that you can have an insert for a cushion. The front piece is where you get to show off your crochet skills! With cables worked down the center, this cushion cover provides a beautiful look you can show off in your home. This project calls for four skeins of Bella Chenille, so this weekend’s savings are right on time!

Bella Chenille is Buy THREE, Get ONE FREE! That means 25% off! This 100% polyester yarn is perfect for many projects, including stuffed animals, amigurumi, blankets, and more! With a wide selection of hues, you can pick your favorite and get started on your next project. Check out all of our free patterns for Bella Chenille at this link. Our Buy THREE, Get ONE FREE offer for Bella Chenille is available through Sunday, September 17th!

This offer is only available when you buy FOUR skeins or more. You must add a quantity of four or more skeins of Bella Chenille to your cart. The discount for one skein will be automatically deducted at checkout for each quantity of four skeins.

Free Pattern Friday – Double Square Pillow

It’s Free Pattern Friday!

Tan, light blue, white, and light green mitered square pillow

Today, the Double Square Pillow in Uptown DK Magix (pattern link here).

Many of our LYSes feature an extended family of crafts.  We love seeing the embroidery, weaving, and quilting that’s going on out there.  And it was with quilting in mind that we created the mitered square Double Square Pillow.

Mitered square pillow knit in Uptown DK Magix yarn

Self-patterning Uptown DK Magix adds a modern look with the splash of color changes, while the strong diagonal line of the centered double decreases look like crosshatch quilted lines. You can try planning the color changes specifically to correspond with each mitered square, but we think it’s more fun to just let the colors land where they will. In the sample shown, no care was given to color placement of the Magix color changes.

Tan knitted pillow showing button closure

Solid Uptown DK in stockinette backs the pillow, fastened with buttons for easy removal.  A lovely, easy-care home decor project.

Free Pattern Friday – Four Leaves Pillow

It’s Free Pattern Friday!

FourLeavesPillow_UptownBulky

Today, it’s the Four Leaves Pillow in Uptown Bulky.

Thick and quick are the words of the day!  Machine washable Uptown Bulky (100g/87yds) is a great choice for this home decor project.  Its 100% anti-pilling acrylic is the perfect pick for a piece that’s going to be on display.  Just two balls on size 13 needles and boom, you’re done!

The pillow is worked in one piece.  It starts in the front, is worked from the center out to the edges, then decreases around the back.  Start with DPNs (double pointed needles), then switch to a circular needle, then when the project is too small for circulars again go back to your DPNs.When you’re about 3/4 of the way done, you’ll slip a 12″ pillow inside and work around it.  Finish up seamlessly for a polished look.

We hope you enjoy this, the perfect project to curl up on the couch with.

Happy knitting!
