Happy Friday! Today’s free offering is this cute little critter – Wobble the Axolotl! Our talented Afifa Sayeed designed this with snuggles in mind, and you’re never too old to hug a stuffed animal. Made with Bella Chenille, you can’t go wrong making this sweet cuddle bug, whether it’s for you or your little one.
Axolotls are typically the baby pink color showcased here, but did you know they can be blue, brown, grey, orange, or even green? With our large color palette in Bella Chenille, you can make your axolotl any color you choose.
Bella Chenille is a super bulky weight yarn, which means this project will go lightning fast! Maybe you could even make a group – also known as a maelstrom – of axolotls! That’s a lotta axolotls! Wobble the Axolotl also has a detachable seaweed scarf made in a contrasting color for a fashion statement all its own.
This weekend, Bella Chenille is 20% off through Sunday, January 18th, so you’ll want to stock up on all your favorite colors so you can make as many Wobbles as possible.
Happy Free Pattern Friday, crafters! Today we are treating you to a brand new homewares pattern – the Whirlwind Stripes Throw, designed by me!
There’s something truly mesmerizing about circular knitted throws—they radiate warmth, symmetry, and endless charm. When paired with a self-striping yarn like Deluxe Stripes, the results are nothing short of magical!
Circular throws add a unique visual appeal compared to traditional square or rectangular blankets. They drape beautifully over furniture, make perfect statement pieces for cozy nooks, and work wonderfully as lap blankets or decorative accents.
With Deluxe Stripes, the colors flow seamlessly in rings, highlighting the radial symmetry of the pattern without needing to weave in a bunch of ends from color changes—what a win!
Deluxe Stripes is a worsted-weight, 100% wool yarn known for its rich, self-striping colorways. It’s soft yet durable, making it perfect for a cozy throw that will last for years.
This weekend, stock up on this delightful yarn at 20% off now through the end of the day on Sunday, March 23rd. Which color is calling your name?
The embroidery kits, as seen above in the Rico Design Christmas Roses Embroidery Kit, all come with pre-drawn fabrics and the materials needed to create the perfect picture. This includes the pre-printed fabric, embroidery thread, frame, embroidery needle, and instructions. This is a wonderful way to dive into a new skill if you haven’t tried embroidery before. Or, if you are already an embroidery enthusiast, this kit is a great option for some quick gift-making for friends or loved-ones.
The counted cross stitch kits have instructions for a decorative motif in various winter designs, like this adorable small house. Each one includes a unique frame, as well as the embroidery thread, needle, counting fabric, and instructions for creating the motif. The one shown here is the Rico Design Small House Cross Stitch Kit, which also comes in medium and large sizes! To create the image, you line up your ‘counting fabric’ in the frame, which will have small perforations in a grid. You will then follow the instructional guide to count over to specific locations in the grid to place your crisscross stitches. If tracking placement and counting isn’t your thing, keep an eye out for the “pre-drawn” note on the listings for the embroidery versions of these cozy Christmas homes (small, medium, large). Embroidery does use different stitches, which will have a final appearance distinct from cross stitch, but the overall image will capture the same holiday cheer.
