Free Pattern Friday – Catawba River Poncho in Deluxe Bulky Superwash

Happy Free Pattern Friday, crafters! The Catawba River Poncho, designed by Amy Gunderson, with its richly textured cables and relaxed silhouette, has always been a standout design. Now, it’s been reimagined in Deluxe Bulky Superwash, bringing new life and new possibilities to this beloved piece.

This poncho’s generous shape drapes comfortably, while the turtleneck adds extra warmth without being restrictive. Paired with jeans and flats for a casual day out, or layered over a dress for a polished look, the Catawba River Poncho is as versatile as it is stylish.

Whether you’re revisiting the design or discovering it for the first time, knitting the Catawba River Poncho in Deluxe Bulky Superwash gives you a project that’s equal parts relaxing and rewarding. Shown in 918 Dusty Blue, the updated yarn choice makes it modern, practical, and ready for a place in your fall wardrobe.

Why Deluxe Bulky Superwash? This yarn is everything you want for a project like the Catawba River Poncho. With its soft hand, excellent stitch definition, and easy-care superwash finish, it highlights the cables beautifully while keeping the poncho light, lofty, and wearable. The bulky gauge also means your stitches fly off the needles, so you’ll be wrapped in cozy style in no time. This weekend only, get 20% off this squishy base. I myself am eyeing 939 Burgundy. How about you?

April’s Spotlight Friday – Beechnut Pullover

Happy Friday, crafters! Today’s spotlight features the Beechnut Pullover, designed by Amy Gunderson.

As the seasons shift, the Beechnut Pullover emerges as a quintessential piece for your transitional wardrobe. This elegant sweater captures the essence of beech trees, featuring intricate lace panels along the sleeves that mirror the delicate beauty of leaves.

What sets the Beechnut Pullover apart is its innovative construction. The journey begins with knitting the lace sleeve panels, allowing you to immerse yourself in the detailed leaf motifs. Once completed, stitches for the body and sleeves are picked up along the panel edges, and the garment is worked from the top down.

Originally crafted using Papyrus, the pattern has been updated to feature Wool Pop. This DK-weight yarn, composed of 50% bamboo, 35% superwash wool, and 15% polyamide, offers a soft drape and subtle sheen, enhancing the pullover’s refined appearance.

Take advantage of a 20% discount on Wool Pop through Sunday, April 20th, and stock up on your favorite color of this delightful yarn.
