It’s Free Pattern Friday!
Today, the Chapel Stole in Radiant Cotton.
Depending on where you are, either it’s warm enough for Spring projects, or you’re dreaming that it’s warm enough. It’s time to get a little headstart with this beautiful lace wrap.
Knit on US Size 7 (4.5mm) needles in Radiant Cotton (203yds/100g), it’s a generous 84″ (seven feet!) as shown. It would be easy to lengthen or shorten – just add or remove a repeat or two from the central section. The crocheted picot edging is applied after finishing the piece.
This lovely sampler also comes in a narrower scarf version at about half the width.
There are some really bright Spring colors in Radiant cotton that would look lovely with this. Maybe 819 Sky Blue?
Or maybe something lighter and more delicate, like 807 First Bloom.
It’s a good feeling to be spoiled for choice.
Happy knitting!
Hello, I’m having a bit of trouble with the Kite section of the pattern.
If I repeat the pattern twice then carry on to the Mesh 2 and Diamonds 2, my stole will be about 24″ long. What am I missing?
If I look at the photos , it appears there are more repeats than you have indicated.
If I want my stole to be about 84″ long then I estimate I must repeat the Kite section about 24 times.
Please help clarify.
Lynda, we see your point! Luckily, the scarf pictured is right here in the office. The pattern seems to call for one repeat of the kites, but the scarf itself seems to have 16 total kites repeats.
Good eye. We’ll run this past our design department once they’re back in the office after the holiday and get the pattern corrected. Thanks for letting us know!
Hi, Lynda! Our design department looked at this again, and a new version of the pattern has been updated. Here’s a link.
The revision in the kites section reads, Cont in patt through Row 22 of patt, then rep Rows 1-22, 14 more times
Again, thanks for the heads-up!
Thank you ! I only have 11 more repeats to go 🙂
